When i try to use "-hls_segment_type fmp4" , ffmpeg detect the option but continue to encode in .ts file,the headers are good but the segments aren't in .m4s. ,... -start_number 0 -hls_time 4 -hls_list_size 3 -use_localtime 1 -hls_segment_type fmp4 -hls_segment_filename "$REMOTE_PATH}/segment_%s.m4s" -preset ... , It's working as expected for -hls_segment_type mpegs. Patches should be submitted to the ffmpeg-devel mailing list and not this bug tracker.,hls_segment_type flags. Possible values: ' mpegts '. Output segment files in MPEG-2 Transport Stream format.
